DocNow is a Greek telemedicine platform that connects you with licensed doctors through a secure video consultation, from your phone or tablet.
Licensed doctors, registered with a Greek medical association
The doctors you connect with through DocNow are licensed in Greece and registered with a Greek medical association.
This is not an advice line, and it is not an automated app that generates answers. You speak with a doctor, live, and the medical assessment is theirs.
A secure video consultation inside the app
The consultation takes place entirely within the DocNow app. You do not need to email your symptoms, give your number to a stranger, or join an external video-calling service.
At your appointment time you tap to connect, and the call begins in the same place you made the booking. Each consultation is scheduled for 15 minutes. For the wider picture of how remote consultations work, read about telemedicine in Greece.
Your data and the GDPR
Health data falls into the special categories of the General Data Protection Regulation and is protected more strictly than ordinary personal data. That means tighter conditions on what may be collected, who can access it, and how long it is kept.
DocNow operates in compliance with the GDPR. You have the right to request access to your data, to have it corrected, or to delete your account, and you can do so at any time.
Where your data is stored
Data is stored on infrastructure within the European Union. It is not transferred to countries with a lower standard of protection.
For a patient that has a practical meaning: your medical history, the notes from your consultation and your contact details stay on European soil, under European law.
Payment and cost
Each consultation costs a flat €20, with no subscription and no hidden charges. Payment is by card, inside the app, at the moment you book.
Payments are processed by Viva, a Greek payment services provider. Your card details are entered in the secure payment environment and are not stored by DocNow.
The fee covers the medical assessment. Whether a prescription or referral is appropriate is decided by the doctor, at their clinical discretion, and is not something the fee secures. There is no charge per minute and nothing to pay afterwards.
When you need in-person care
Telemedicine does not replace emergency care. If you experience severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding, sudden weakness or difficulty speaking, call 112 immediately, or 166 for an ambulance in Greece.
A video consultation also cannot replace a hands-on physical examination or laboratory and imaging tests. Where those are needed, the doctor will explain this and direct you to the appropriate next step. Sending a patient where they need to go is part of a proper assessment, not a failure of one.
