App Terms of Use

DocNow Hellas · Version v1.0 · May 2026

Welcome to DocNow. Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the platform. Your registration and use of the Platform constitute your unconditional acceptance of them.

MEDICAL EMERGENCY — DocNow is NOT an emergency medical service. In a life-threatening situation (severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, seizures, severe bleeding, signs of stroke or heart attack, acute confusion), call EKAV on 166 immediately or go to the nearest emergency hospital.

1. Definitions

“DocNow”, “the Platform”, “we”: the limited partnership “DOCNOW E.E.” (trading as DOCNOW Hellas), registered at Evangelikis Scholis 3-5, 14231 Nea Ionia, Attica, VAT No. 803284374, GEMI No. 193781603000. “Platform”: the DocNow application (iOS and Android) and any other electronic interface DocNow offers to its users. “Doctor”: a licensed physician registered with a Medical Association of Greece who has entered into a partnership agreement with DocNow and provides medical services through the Platform as an independent professional. “Patient”, “you”: the natural person who registers and uses the Platform. “Consultation”: an electronic medical visit by video call. “EPS”: the Electronic Prescription System operated by IDIKA S.A.

2. Nature of the Service

DocNow is a technology platform that connects patients with independent Doctors for telemedicine by video call. DocNow does not itself provide medical services; it does not diagnose, treat or issue prescriptions. The medical relationship is formed solely between you and the Doctor, who bears sole medical responsibility. Telemedicine has inherent limitations compared with an in-person examination, and the Doctor will refer you for an in-person examination where they consider it necessary.

3. Eligibility and Registration

To register as an adult user you must be over 18. For minors under 18, the booking is made by the parent/guardian, who must be physically present during the Consultation. You declare accurate details and are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. The Platform is available to persons located in Greece; any prescription may not be valid outside Greece.

4. Acceptance of Terms and Privacy Policy

Use of the Platform requires acceptance of these Terms and of the Privacy Policy. If they are updated, you will be notified within the Platform and asked to accept the new version before your next booking. Your acceptance is recorded with date, time, IP address and document version (Article 7(1) GDPR).

5. Booking and Conducting a Consultation

You select a Doctor, an appointment time and a reason for the visit. The booking is completed on payment, and you receive a confirmation email and an in-app notification. You join the video call at the scheduled time, with a stable connection in a quiet space. For an effective Consultation, provide accurate and honest medical information (history, symptoms, medication, allergies).

6. Prices, Payments and Receipts

The price of a Consultation is twenty euros (€20.00), unless a different price applies for a specific Doctor, shown before confirmation. Payment is made through Stripe by card or Apple Pay; we do not store card numbers. From the amount, the Doctor receives their fee and DocNow retains a commission. The Doctor issues you an electronic receipt; DocNow’s Payment Confirmation is not a tax document.

7. Cancellations, No-Shows and Refunds

You may cancel free of charge with at least 60 minutes before the start (refund within 5-10 business days). Cancellation within the final hour, or a no-show, gives no right to a refund. If the Doctor fails to attend without notice, or the Consultation is interrupted due to a Platform technical problem, you are entitled to a repeat or a full refund. No refund applies for problems with your own connection or equipment.

8. Medical Record and History

DocNow maintains an electronic medical record (identity details, history, allergies, medication, Doctors’ notes, diagnoses, prescriptions, referrals, photographs). You can access it through the app. The record is visible to your treating Doctor and to authorised administrative staff where necessary. Every access is logged (audit log). It is retained for ten (10) years from your last contact, under Article 14 of Law 3418/2005.

9. Prescription of Medicines

The Doctor issues electronic prescriptions through the EPS where medically indicated; prescribing is solely their clinical decision. Booking a Consultation does NOT constitute a request to supply a specific medicine nor a right to a specific prescription; the fee covers the medical assessment, regardless of outcome.

DocNow Doctors do NOT prescribe the following categories through the Platform, under any circumstances, neither as a first prescription nor as a re-issue:

  • ·Narcotic substances of Schedules A, B, C of Law 3459/2006 (strong opioids and other addictive substances).
  • ·Narcotic substances of Schedule D (tramadol, codeine >30mg, dihydrocodeine).
  • ·Benzodiazepines (alprazolam, diazepam, bromazepam, lorazepam, clonazepam).
  • ·Z-drugs and other non-benzodiazepine hypnotics (zolpidem, zopiclone).
  • ·Gabapentinoids (pregabalin, gabapentin).
  • ·ADHD psychostimulants (methylphenidate, lisdexamfetamine).
  • ·Gender-affirming care.
  • ·Anabolic steroids and testosterone off-label for athletic or aesthetic purposes.
  • ·Medicinal cannabis derivatives (subject to a separate licensing regime).
  • ·Anaesthetic or sedative medicines outside a hospital setting.

To issue a prescription/referral through the Platform you must have activated Paperless Prescribing (via gov.gr or on 1535). Where the Consultation took place and the Doctor judges the prescription is not indicated or falls within the restrictions, they refuse it with a written justification in your record, with no right to a refund. Where misuse of addictive substances is indicated, DocNow may flag your account internally.

10. Obligations and Prohibitions

The following are prohibited: using a third party’s account or false details; audio/video recording or screenshots of the Consultation without the Doctor’s written consent; publishing Consultation content; abusive or threatening conduct towards Doctors or staff; interfering with security systems; and commercial use of the Platform, which is intended solely for personal use.

11. Intellectual Property Rights

All rights in the DocNow application, code, logo, design and content belong to DocNow E.E. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the application solely for personal use and only while you maintain an active account.

12. Liability

DocNow provides technical infrastructure and does not itself provide medical services. Medical responsibility belongs solely to the relevant Doctor, who holds professional liability insurance. DocNow is not liable for damage arising from incorrect or dishonest information, failure to follow the Doctor’s instructions, or your own technical difficulties. DocNow’s total liability is limited to the total fees it collected from you in the last twelve (12) months, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

13. Account Management and Deletion

You may delete your account at any time, through the app or by request to privacy@docnow.gr. Deletion does not delete your medical record, which is retained for ten (10) years (Law 3418/2005). DocNow may suspend or terminate your account in case of breach of these Terms, false details, harassment or misuse.

14. Contact and Complaints

For questions or complaints: support@docnow.gr. For data protection matters: privacy@docnow.gr. We make reasonable efforts to respond within 5 business days.

15. Amendments to the Terms

DocNow may amend these Terms. Material changes are notified by email and in-app, and before your next booking you will be asked to accept the new version. If you do not accept it, you are entitled to delete your account.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Greek law. The Courts of Athens have jurisdiction, subject to your consumer rights. You also retain the right to use the European Commission’s ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
